Before Learning about Google Ads we need to know about keyword Match types and Bidding Strategies
Keyword Match Types :
There are 3 different keyword match types
- Broad Match
- Phrase Match
- Exact Match
Broad Match Type :
- Broad Match is keyword match type where if even one word of keyword match then our add appears on SERP
- Ex : you have created add with Best Dental Hospital if customer search for Best Cardiology Hospital even then your add appears because best & hospital is common word in both of the keywords
- So your add money wasted for irrelevant searches , hence this broad match type is not so advisable
Phrase Match Type:
- In this phrase match keyword in ad is specified between inverted commas while placing ad “Dental Hospital”.
- If customer search for Dental Hospital near me, Best Dental Hospitals or Best Dental Hospital in Hyderabad then only then your ad is appeared to the customers.
- If we search for Best Cardiology Hospital your ad doesn’t appear because the keyword given between inverted commas is not matching with given keyword.
- If he search for branded watch or branded clothes your ad will not appear because watch and clothes words is not mentioned with the inverted commas.
Exact Match Type :
- In this exact match keyword in ad is specified between Square brackets [Best Dental Hospital].
- If customer search exactly for Best Dental Hospital only then your ad appeared to customers.
- If he search for Best Dental Hospital near me your ad will not appear because near me is not mentioned within the Square brackets.
- This is Non Case Sensitive.
- But Problem with is we have to give multiple keywords by guessing the customer search.
- We can take help of Google auto suggestions while giving keywords.
Ad Bidding Strategies:
Bidding is the amount we spend on the particular ad.
There are 2 types of bidding.
- Manual Bidding
- Automatic Bidding
Manual Bidding : Manual bidding is either risk or loss of time consuming.
Automatic Bidding: Automatic Bidding is best option so Google changes bidding automatically based on competitor bid value
But we have to set a maximum range per click in Automatic Bidding.
Google Ads:
Before creating a Google ads we need to follow below steps
- First we need to create Gmail account
- Then we need to create Google ads Accounts
- Then login into google ads account
- Then create a Google ad(Campaign)
Types of Google Ads:
- Search Ad
- Display Ad
- Video Ad
- Mobile App Ad
- Shopping Ad
- Performance Max
1.Search Ads:
- Search ad is a text ad which appears as a result of our search in google on Search Engine Results Page(SERP)
- It works on CPC(Cost Per Click) Pay Method
- Google Ad Structure : Campaign--->Ad Groups--->Keywords
- In campaign we have to Target locations where we run business
- In adgroups we have to Target Services which we provides
- In keywords we have to Target which keywords we want to show the ad(Search Terms)
Rules to create a Search Ad :
- First we need to create a Google Ad account
- We need to have a Website
- Google Ads Express is an automated Google ads and campaigns creation by Google itself
- There will be 15 headlines(titles allowed in an ad) each headline can have up to 30 characters and description can have up to 90 characters
- If we give 15 headlines it will choose any 2 or 3 of them it's known as Responsive Search Ad.
2. Display Ads :
- Display ad is a Image ad which we used for branding
- This Ad appears on Google Partner sites like Google, Youtube, and some other Google adsense approved Sites
- It Works on CPM(Cost per Mile)/(Cost per 1000 Impressions)
Rules to Create a Display Ad:
- Impressive Image/Banner
- Specify Brand name
- More Creative Less Content
- Short Impressive points
- Call to action button
- Create urgency
3. Video Ads:
This is video ad this is mainly used to create YouTube ads for the purpose of branding
It Works on CPM (Cost per Mile/1000 Impressions)
There are 2 types of Video ads they are
- In Stream Ads
- In Feed Ads
In Stream Ads
- These are the video ads which appears in the middle of video we are watch there are both skippable and non skippable ads in this In stream ads
- In Non Skippable ads there are Different types again
- 6 secs ad and 15 secs ad 30 secs 1 min ad etc.
- 6 secs ad is known as bumper ad
- This instream ad is mainly used by business people, movie teasers for branding
- For Non Skippable money will be deducted as we cant skip them
- For Skippable ad if we watch ad atleast 30 sec or full video or if click on ad an redirect then amount will be deducted
- If we skip amount is not deducted
- In both Skippable and Non Skippable ads, Non Skippable is the best because it drives the user concentration
In Feed Ads:
- It appears on the right side of YouTube page suggestions or Home Page.
- It is a image ad.
- It works CPV (Cost per View).
- This is mainly used by YouTube channels to increase Subscribers and Views.
4. Mobile App Ads:
This ad is mainly created to Increase number of Installs for an Mobile App

It Works CPI(Cost per Install) Strategy
5. Shopping Ads:
It is mainly used for products based companies to sell their Products
For creating shopping ads we should create Google Merchant Center
We have to sign up by giving all information required and can add products manually one by one or by Group or by linking website and Google ads page
6. Performance Max:
It’s the recent update made in the google ads main goal of performance max campaign is conversions/sales/Leads
Performance Max is a campaign type that allows advertisers to access all of their Google Ads inventory from a single campaign. Advertisers who use Performance Max experience an average of 18% more conversions at a similar cost per action.
